5 Steps to stop hitting the snooze button

Comedian Demetri Martin said it best: “Hitting the snooze button in the morning doesn’t even make sense. It’s like you’re saying, ‘I hate waking up in  the morning, so I do it over, and over, and over again!'” 😂

Speaking as a recovering snooze-a-holic, here are the (5) simple steps you can follow to stop hitting the snooze button and start your day with The Miracle Morning:

1. Set Your Intentions Before Bed

Remember that your first thought in the morning is typically whatever the last thought was that you had before you went to sleep. So, the key is to consciously decide every night to create a positive expectation for how you will feel the next morning.

2. Move Your Alarm Clock Across The Room

This is one of most effective ways to keep from snoozing, as it forces you to get out of bed and engage your body in movement. Motion creates energy, so when you get up and out of bed it naturally helps you to wake up and stay awake.

3. Brush Your Teeth

I know this is obvious and not too sophisticated, but that’s the point. The point is that every minute you remain awake, your body acclimates. So, engaging in a mindless task like brushing your teeth allows your body to continue awakening for the day.

4. Drink a Full Glass of Water

After 6-8 hours without water, you’ll naturally be mildly dehydrated, and dehydration causes fatigue. So, it’s crucial that you hydrate yourself first thing every morning.

5. Get Dressed or Jump In the Shower

You can get dressed in your exercise clothes, so you’re ready to leave your bedroom and immediately engage in your Miracle Morning, or you can jump in the shower if you want to feel refreshed.

With these (5) simple steps, you’ll be ready to head out of your bedroom and start your Miracle Morning, to begin each day in a peak physical, mental, emotional and spiritual state!
